National Networking Symposium – Connect Sphere
The National Networking Symposium – Connect Sphere, held on January 22nd, 2024; a remarkable event focused on highlighting pluralism. It served as a platform for fostering open dialogue and collaboration, aiming to enhance understanding and unity among diverse communities.
The symposium was graced by Mr. Sivabalasundaran, the Government Agent of Jaffna, who attended as the chief guest. His presence, along with that of religious leaders, added a significant spiritual dimension to the event, as they provided their blessings for its success.
Mr. Shifaan, the Internews Representative, expressed gratitude to the religious leaders, emphasizing the importance of pluralism in today’s society. Under the guidance of Mr. Sukiratharaj, Coordinator of JSAC, a panel discussion was held featuring esteemed panellists, including Ms. Kosalai Mathan, Mr. Siril Pathirana, Ms. Kiruthika Tharmarajah, and Mr. Mariampillai Selvin Granious. They shared valuable insights on relevant societal issues raised by the panel head.
Participants engaged in discussions on effective strategies for promoting pluralism among people. They were encouraged to reflect on their individual contributions, considering various stakeholders such as media personnel, social activists, feminists, transgender individuals, NGOs, and differently-abled persons. The groups focused on identifying key factors hindering pluralism and proposed practical solutions.
The symposium’s outcomes and discussions serve as a testament to the organization’s commitment to promoting pluralism and fostering inclusivity in society.
